We need your help!! to try and finish this project! 45 bags have been picked up and it is only about half of the area affected by truck and traveler dumping.

Bring your wide brim hats, neck gators, long pants and long sleves, and a picker if you have one or want to buy and donate to Chiriaco Summit Adopt a Highway program.

This cleanup effort is combined with active discussion with Chiriaco Summit and Cal Trans about measures to implement to reduce or inhibit the deposition of trash and human waste from truckers and travelers.

The last of 30 bags in two days with help from Myra and Bob. Thank you guys so much for your support on short notice.

The Real Hero
A Spiny Lizard???

I need help identifying this lizard. It was curious why we were removing the shade and fixtures of it's home under the creosote bush. This is the real hero. It has endured much in its lifetime, including human garbage deposition and removal. Harsh prolinged drought is very real for this reptile, and yet it survives even with its tail removed from some altercation. This and one more were the only only lizards we saw on March 4th. It is still too cold, but it is finally RAINING!

Meeting Location: Exit 168 i10, Box Canyon Rd

What will be provided: gloves, masks, bags, Cold Water.

What to bring: wide brim Hat, Long Sleve shirt, Long Pants, gator or bandana to cover your neck, y8our water bottle if you want. Snacks for yourself or others if you want bring enough to share.

Restrooms will be provided by Chevron Food Mart or the Chiriaco Summit Diner.
